Welcome one and all!
This is a small enclave of the internet, nestled away from the madness and malcontents of the gigantic “series of tubes”, where everyone and anyone can drop in, grab a couch, pour a drink, sit by the (in winter) crackling fire / (in summer) split system airconditioner, and listen to people of all stripes and proclivities enthuse, crush on, gush over and celebrate something they love about film.
It can be a film.
A TV show.
An actor.
A filmmaker.
A film/TV technician.
A scene.
A shot.
A moment.
A genre.
A period of time in film/TV.
Once a week, every week, I will invite a friend, acquaintance, Twitterpal, critic, film/TV professional, avid site fan/commenter and, well, virtually anyone who asks to contribute one article on one person/thing — film & TV related, of course, that’s the only restriction — they adore, and why they adore it so.
Yes, it’s a love-in — without the distracting dangly bits — and you’re all invited.
Before I leave you to look around these new surrounds and await our first guest, the house has but one request:
NO NEGATIVITY.
Negative, argumentative or pugilistic comments will be deleted.
Trolls and bots will be blocked, never to return.
This is a place of positivity, of unabashed, unabridged, unbridled passion, to get all excited about any and all facets of the undisputed greatest art form of the last century-and-change, and everyone is welcome and made to feel comfortable. Make anyone feel rubbish, and you’re out.
That’s the house’s ONLY rule. Please respect it.
Other than that, you can drink, smoke, snort, drop tabs, curse, laugh loudly, crank the music up, even air your greatest undercover shame… as long as it’s all in the name of love.
